Splunk is looking for highly motivated college students to join our team. As an intern, you will work on a real project (or a few) and have an opportunity to enjoy our dynamic, startup-like environment.

You will experience Splunking and what defines our culture while honing the skills which separate our development teams from others. Working to support internal and external customer needs, you will collaborate with multi-functional teams, receive mentorship, and gain insight into our values-driven process. As a Product Security Intern you will be responsible for …

Helping keep all Splunk products secure! Splunk offers a host of products and apps - this means being involved in and staying on top of security in cutting edge tech (cloud, container technology, on-premise, etc). In addition to security specific needs, we also actively solve security engineering automation problems at scale. Splunk is now a huge player in the security space, and it’s important that our team helps lead by example!


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming (Python preferred) and algorithms
  • Solid understanding of OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25 security issues
  • Solid understanding of security triad - CIA
  • Passionate about helping developers and making products more secure in agile environment
  • Experience with version control systems, Git or similar
  • Interest in software/application security and security engineering
  • You enjoy working well with others in a fast-paced environment
  • You enjoy working within an agile environment
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • You bring enthusiasm for solving interesting problems, knack for automating
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with dynamic analysis and/or static analysis tooling
  • Familiarity with Secure SDLC
  • Deep understanding of the network and web
  • Deep understanding of browser security model
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux
  • Strong proficiency in Python, GO, Javascript or C++
  • Knowledge of cryptographic protocols, key exchange/management and authentication protocols
  • Contributions to the public security community (CVEs, talks, papers, etc)
  • Participation in Capture The Flag (CTF) events


Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Information Security or a related technical field, and strong record of academic achievement.
