Role

Do you want to tell stories and craft messages that help influencers, prospects, customers, and employees change the world through data? The intersection of art and science is at the heart of marketing managers today, and crisp, clear, emotive storytelling helps us bring the value of Splunk to life.

Splunk is seeking a motivated messaging expert who can help us define the core messages for Splunk. In this role you will help our sales, marketing, and product team craft a clear and cohesive narrative about who we are and what we do. In addition to creative storytelling you will build guidelines, frameworks, and presentations to codify and share our message and positioning. Your key partners will be the brand, campaigns, enablement and product marketing teams.

Together the corporate messaging team will craft the vision of the company and amplify it across the organization as well as through our marketing channels like events and keynotes.

Responsibilities

  • You will ideate and create highly-visible messaging and content that reshapes how Splunk talks about its differentiation as well as its vision for the future.
  • You will be responsible for presentations, guidelines and messaging frameworks that drive engagement and clarity both internally and externally.
  • You will partner with key executives to distill both our key corporate messages as well as our future product roadmaps into a cohesive vision for Splunk.
  • You will work in collaborative partnership with our, technical PMM, creative and enablement teams to align our corporate message and align on differentiation.
  • You will build scalable materials and training that can be adopted across the company and partner with our enablement organization to ensure that customer-facing employees can consistently deliver Splunk’s messaging and differentiation.
  • You will support corporate events to ensure consistency and clarity across keynotes and breakouts.
  • You will own our corporate messaging presentation, creating compelling messaging, visuals and scalable messaging that becomes the core of our narrative.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience; B2B marketing with a focus on messaging and/or product marketing, or creative agency working with B2B clients preferred.
  • Excellent written, oral, and social interpersonal skills across multiple audiences and methods.
  • A strong presence; critical thinker; confident and assertive.
  • A proven track record collaborating across matrixed organizations to get results.
  • Adept at navigating uncertainty and complexity and driving to a finished product.
  • Experience partnering with senior executives to create messaging/presentations.
  • Deep functional knowledge of presentation and design tools including PowerPoint, keynote, photoshop and InDesign.
  • Focused collaboration, harmony and the ability to lead with vision.
