As Data Engineer for GTM Solutions, you will help build and support the next generation services for our demonstration framework across Splunk’s product portfolio. You will be supporting the business by creating a datagen service to supply our demonstration environment with all of our data needs, and it turns out we love data!

In this role will be engaging with multiple service owners across the platform to manage cloud native infrastructure. You work closely with core stakeholders from the Market Strategy and Technical Sales organization as well as Product Management, Engineering, and Technical Marketing teams to maximise value demonstration efficiency of the MSTS organization.

Responsibilities

  • Work across the organization to deliver quality data for a superior demonstration experience
  • Embed with teams of tight-knit engineers who are building a cloud-based environment for massive-scale demonstrations.
  • Work with demonstration program manager to offer guidance and technical feasibility of internal data service requests
  • Act as a team technical liaison with content development teams (Technical Marketing, Strategists, Sales Engineering, etc.) to improve Splunk demonstration framework over time while helping Splunk achieve its revenue goals and in product experience

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience installing, using and configuring a combination of Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Cloud, Splunk IT Service Intelligence, SignalFx Infrastructure Monitoring, SignalFx Microservices APM and/or VictorOps, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Python, Golang, Gitlab CI, Qbec, OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • Experience with Terraform and Ansible
  • Experience with Kubernetes environments and understanding of multi-tenancy and security implications.
  • Experience with development and deployment in a hosted cloud environment, preferably AWS & GCP.
  • Understanding of basic debugging and quality assurance processes
  • Understanding of customer satisfaction in a business critical delivery environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with great attention to detail
  • Preferred:
  • Experience working with container deployment and orchestration technologies with knowledge of fundamentals including service discovery, deployments, monitoring, scheduling, load balancing.
  • Experience with distributed cloud service development, infrastructure, traffic management and architecture.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
