Role

We're seeking a Director of Product Marketing to drive the go-to-market strategy for Splunk’s observability portfolio of products. You will build and lead a team of rock-star PMMs and drive positioning and messaging for Splunk Observability, portfolio sales enablement, and go-to-market strategy for the Splunk Observability portfolio. In addition, you’ll conceive of thought leadership to improve Splunk’s share of voice in the observability category, conduct market analysis, inform our integrated campaigns and sales plays, and drive messaging and enablement related to our observability pricing.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a team of world-class product marketers
  • Develop portfolio-level positioning and messaging for Splunk Observability that resonates with our core audiences: DevOps teams, SREs, IT Operations, and software developers, as well as tech leaders
  • Empower our sales and customer-facing teams with the sales plays, messaging, tools, and training they need to confidently describe our POV and get customers excited to try, buy and adopt Splunk Observability
  • Inform strategy and planning for observability integrated marketing campaigns, in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders across the marketing team
  • Provide thought leadership for observability, including defining our category POV as well as partnering with marketing to build engaging content such as blog posts, eBooks, presentations, workshops, and webinars
  • Perform market research and analysis to improve Splunk’s understanding of the observability market, competitors, and key trends
  • Collaborate with product management to harness customer insights and help inform market requirements
  • Drive pricing messaging and enablement for Splunk Observability

Requirements

  • 10+ years in product marketing, product management, or sales engineering at a high-growth B2B software company
  • 2+ years leading high-performing teams, with proven ability to hire, mentor and develop product marketers.
  • Proven ability to effectively position B2B products for growth in the market, appealing to technical users and economic decision-makers
  • Experience in the observability, monitoring, AIOps, DevOps, or other software delivery spaces preferred
  • Expertise in writing differentiated and compelling marketing content for developers, SREs, and IT Operations
  • Superior communication, presentation, public speaking, and interpersonal skills
  • Adept at influencing executives, and building consensus in a highly ambiguous, fast-paced environment
  • Growth mindset, positive attitude (no jerks policy), and curiosity to learn and try new things
  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience
