As User Research Ops/Enablement Lead, you will enable the user research team and designers to build, lead, and complete high-quality user research. You will work closely with the user research managers and user researchers to understand their operational needs while also scaling the program to the entire design organization. You will be the conduit for direct communication with users, ensuring decisions are made with quality data, and enabling good research practices to scale.

This outstanding role consists of part user research, part educator/consultant, and part user research operations! This is not a conventional user research role. We hope to find someone with a broader interest to take on a leadership role at Splunk crafting a rich, vibrant research community within our larger design organization.

What you’ll do

  • Increase the quantity, quality and impact of designer-led research
  • Lead a consistent cadence of design research (rolling research) ensuring user-focused designs are delivered
  • Ensure the design team is in regular contact with our customers, and drive a user-focused approach to product design and development
  • Develop process, standards, and methodology best practices to elevate the accuracy and trust of Splunk User Research
  • Identify gaps and lead training to up-level designers in their User Research abilities
  • Dedicated research resource for SPLUXR, Splunks User Research program (SPLUXR) for designers to consult their research needs with
  • Partner with Research Leadership to develop a Splunk Research philosophy aligned with the User Research Team and Design Team
  • You will grow the user research participant pool and improve recruiting standard methodologies
  • Assess and manage user research tooling/vendor needs

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in running User Research studies, designing, facilitating and delivering recommendations on digital experiences
  • Knowledge of best practices for choosing research methodologies
  • Experience in writing high-quality research plans that ensure data quality and impact
  • Ability to assess research education needs of the organization
  • Experience in coaching and teaching organization in research practices
  • An operational approach…..scaling, standardizing, structure, operating efficiently.
  • Hard work, creativity in the face of challenges
  • A love and appreciation for user advocacy and research

Bonus

  • Have worked with enterprise users or SaaS products
  • Understanding of the IT enterprise user
  • Run rolling research in a previous role
