Role

Splunk is looking for an experienced Senior Strategic Sourcing & Category Manager to join the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement team. The Senior Strategic Sourcing & Category Manager will have the responsibility for leading global sourcing projects across 30+ markets, making recommendations for vendor selection and process re-engineering to improve efficiency and effectiveness. You will be responsible for developing strong business partnerships to collaborate on strategy across the business unit while driving category, supplier and sourcing strategies, to maximize value including managing risk, optimizing use and supplier performance, and reducing cost. You will provide management of the overall supplier relationship including negotiating pricing and contract terms as well as supplier performance and compliance. You will act as a trusted business partner, collaborating with management and other subject matter experts to develop category strategies, alternative solutions when necessary, advising on risks, total cost of ownership, and business impacts.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in Sourcing in the Software/SaaS industry with significant experience with Marketing required (4+ years).  Experience with Public Sector and/or Sales Sourcing is a plus.
  • BS degree or equivalent experience required
  • Experience leading global sourcing responsibilities, including opportunity analysis and identification, supplier selection, compliance and risk evaluation, and contract negotiation.  Contract experience must include negotiating and redlining consulting, contractor, advertising, lead generation, sponsorship, online and virtual event related expenses (speakers, logistics, catering, furniture, media), and hotel agreements.
  • Experience in developing and executing annual category management plans is preferred and drafting and managing RFPs/RFIs is a must.
  • Must understand overall P2P processes and vendor onboarding compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with strong teamwork, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, and experience in directly manage others is a must.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including, but not limited to, Security, Privacy, Legal and FP&A to provide end-to-end support to the business.
  • Ability to develop strategic sourcing strategies in alignment with business initiatives.
  • Experience with Scout, SAP/Ariba preferred.
