Role Summary

As a Developer Intern (Remote), you will become part of the Global Strategy & Execution (GS&E) team that provides technical and thought leadership through focused solutions to the Customer Success and Experience (CSX) organizations worldwide. You will join a team of Strategy Developers and Architects working directly with our Lead Developer on crafting and building new and solutions. Finally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other teams, to share your knowledge and experiences to ultimately improve our business and drive an improved customer experience.
What you'll get to do
- Collaborate with individuals across the company from Product Management, Product Marketing, Sales, Sales Engineering, Technical Enablement, Customer Success, and Support.
- Help to define the roadmap for product solutions.
- Work closely as a team, as well as multi-functional collaboration across Splunk as needed.
- Build new tools to support CSX initiatives.
- Able to work on timelines, effective at communicating, and eager to work as a part of a new groundbreaking team.
- Adopt continuous learning, and industry methodologies.
Must-have Qualifications
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related technical field. and strong record of academic achievement
- At least one semester/quarter remaining to complete after the internship
- Available to work 40 hours a week for 12 weeks
Nice-to-have Qualifications
We’ve taken special care to separate the must-have qualifications from the nice-to-haves. “Nice-to-have” means just that: Nice. To. Have. So, don’t worry if you can’t check off every box. We’re not hiring a list of bullet points–we’re interested in the whole you.
- Deep knowledge of Python. Knowledge of Ansible, JavaScript, Terraform and AWS services is a bonus.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GIT, and Splunk.
- Deep understanding of Splunk administration and Splunk Search Processing Language.
- Strong open systems application and infrastructure knowledge.
- Organized with excellent time management, ability to build, communicate, prioritize, and deliver tasks.
- Preference for experience with at least two of the following cloud providers: AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Ability to stop, collaborate and listen with technical and non-technical consumers
- Self-motivated and self-educating, always interested in keeping up with technology and improving oneself.
Our Splunktern Program allows incoming interns the flexibility to choose from three start dates, currently anticipated to be:
- Monday, May 19, 2025 - Friday, August 8, 2025
- Monday, June 2, 2025 - Friday, August 22, 2025
- Monday, June 16, 2025 - Friday, September 5, 2025

Base Pay is based on a candidate completing 3 years of university or the academic equivalent
Base Pay
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay: $45 per hour
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay: $41 per hour
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay: $36 per hour
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills, year in school and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for benefits.
