Role Summary
As Director of Brand Design, you will lead an in-house creative team of designers who create all customer-facing content. Reporting to the Senior Director, Brand + Creative, you will be responsible for driving the visual look for the Splunk brand and overseeing our design systems—including a design vision for web, campaigns, events, templates, email, and other programs . You will partner across the organization to establish our visual identity, shape the brand, build relationships with strategic partners, and help ensure our visual expression meets all the needs of the company. We’re looking for a creative dreamer who can translate business needs into amazing customer experiences.

What you'll get to do
- Drive our visual identity and design systems to accelerate Splunk’s position as the market leader in Security and Observability solutions. This includes leading a vision for color, photography, illustration, typography, composition, iconography, and other brand elements.
- Deliver content and digital experiences that are simple, human, inspiring, and beautiful.
- Gain a deep knowledge for Splunk products and services as well as our market position.
- Develop, refine, and evangelize creative ideas and campaigns that are thoughtful and clear, across all channels.
- Strategize, develop, and execute a global design system to drive engagement, loyalty, and fuel business growth.
- Help organize systems and operations to ensure a smooth creative process and efficient workflows.
- Lead, inspire, and coach a team of talented designers to create amazing creative work.
- Grow strategic relationships with peers, partners, and employees in order to create a positive working environment and amazing culture.
Must-have Qualifications
- 10+ years as a design leader and creative director, preferably with a high-tech large-scale brand ($1b-$5b+), who pushes for design excellence and operational rigor with a high degree of creativity — reaching both the heart and minds of customers.
- Experience designing, creating, and organizing global design systems.
- Experience leading creative teams either in-house or agency, and able to scale teams with both in-house and agency resources.
- Expertise with design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma) and familiarity with enterprise brand management tools (Workfront, Brandfolder, Adobe Experience Manager)
- Work history and understanding of all digital channels such as web design and UX, experiential design through events and office spaces, broadcast and video, thought leadership, demand and brand campaigns, and motion graphics/animation.
- Track record of building great relationships with strategic partners and establishing a positive team culture.
- An understanding and experience in B2B enterprise businesses—from thought leadership to demand generation and lead flow.
- Keen eye for great design and have the ability to guide teams toward great work.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and guide work through bottlenecks and setbacks.
- You deeply invest in understanding and uplifting the people around you and have a history of attracting, retaining, and developing strong creative talent.
- Creative portfolio that includes produced work for visual identity and advertising campaigns.
