Role

The Global Program Manager, Technical Sales Role Excellence position is a global, hands-on role that involves working closely with Technical Sales leadership, Technical Enablement, Go-to-Market and other cross-functional partners. The role's primary focus is improving the effectiveness of Splunk Technical Sellers which has a direct impact on customer satisfaction and success.
This role is ideal for an experienced Technical Seller or Technical Enablement Program Manager who thrives in a high-growth, fast-paced, highly collaborative, matrixed environment who is committed to delivering engaging, agile, scalable, and most importantly, impactful learning experiences. This individual works with flexibility, attention to detail, and a positive “can do” attitude. While the primary responsibility is not training delivery, applicants should be natural facilitators and collaborators. As the Global Program Manager, Technical Sales Role Excellence, you will define the Technical Seller's journey from onboarding to role excellence. Your work will provide a strong start for new Technical Sellers and continuous support for tenured Splunkers, so they can build and develop their expertise throughout their Splunk career.

Responsibilities:

  • Equip Technical Sellers with the knowledge and skills required by their global role definitions
  • Build credibility and relationships with Technical Sales teams
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including technical sales leadership, Splunk EDU/Technical Enablement, HR, and other GTM teams to align and integrate the Technical Seller Journey with broader Splunk initiatives
  • Define success metrics for the Technical Sales Role Excellence Program and collaborate with the Global Field Enablement & Sales Operations teams to develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track progress towards success.
  • Use data to identify gaps and lead changes to improve completion, sentiment, and performance
  • Routinely audit and drive updates of Technical Seller learning paths, resources, and materials
  • Drive the adoption of the Splunk Unified Engagement Model within Technical Sales organization to ensure a consistent customer experience
  • Use your understanding of the Technical Seller's role in Splunk sales processes and methodologies to help refine, influence, and advocate for their roles in current and future sales-related initiatives

Requirements:

  • Deep technical understanding of Splunk products and solutions
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of Technical Sales/Sales Engineering experience
  • Critical thinking, outstanding writing and editing, impeccable planning, and strong relationship-building skills
  • Operational skills with the ability to vision and build scalable, repeatable programs
  • Project management and change management skills with experience working with a sales ecosystem
  • Able to represent concepts, vision, and objectives, communicating across enablement organizations and business partners, supporting the building of role-relevant learning experiences
  • Ability to identify and communicate gaps or areas of improvement in Technical Sales Enablement Journey
  • Well-organized, tenacious and persistent; able to lead multiple projects and results while prioritizing in a high-pressure, often changing environment. An entrepreneurial, problem-solving attitude and growth mindset

  • Demonstrated experience leading technical onboarding program design, development, and deployment successfully with measurable results at a mid to large-size fast-growing tech company
  • Experience integrating domain/industry, technical, product, and professional skills into a learning journey
  • Technical sales enablement experience in a fast-growing software organization

Note:

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $132,000.00 - 181,500.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $118,800.00 - 163,350.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $105,600.00 - 145,200.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
