Role Summary
Splunk is looking for students to join our Vancouver-based teams for the Winter 2024 co-op term. As a Backend Software Engineer Co-op, you will work on a real project (or a few) and have an opportunity to enjoy our dynamic, startup-like environment. You will have the opportunity to:
- Design, develop, code and test software systems, or applications for software improvements and new products.
- Contribute through participation in agile development of project timelines, implementation design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, testing, and ongoing support of systems.
- Make an impact through your recommended modifications to processes and procedures, and directly contribute to standard methodologies, architecture, and implementation.
Backend roles are available on the following teams:
Data Collection Connectors: The Data Collection Connectors team is a dynamic technology group with a mission to provide Splunk customers with the ability to collect an ever-growing list of machine data sources, and route it to Splunk or other destinations. The team is building state-of-the-art capabilities in real-time messaging, streaming systems and monitoring that will greatly impact how Splunk’s customers collect their vast amounts of machine data easily and route that data reliably to the desired destinations.
Ingest Protocol and Services (IPS): The Ingest Protocol and Services (IPS) team is focused on offering Splunk customers (Customer Managed Platform and Splunk Cloud) a highly available, reliable, scalable and performant solution for ingesting customer data into the Splunk platform. The IPS team works on protocols in Splunk enterprise and Splunk cloud, handling up to petabytes of data per day for large customer installs.
