Role Summary

Splunk Legal is looking for a motivated attorney to join our team and serve as legal advisor to the business teams. You will work closely with key internal business and technology partners on various strategic and day-to-day legal matters relating to the procurement of products and services. You will support Splunk's global supply chain, ensure risk management, build scalable compliance programs, and address customer requirements in the supply chain. The position will report to Director, Procurement (Legal).

What you'll get to do

  • Support the Splunk global procurement team by reviewing transactions and advising on legal, compliance and regulatory issues
  • Build a trusted advisor relationship
  • Engage with the procurement and finance teams to support transactions and process improvements.
Support Global Supply Chain activities
  • Review, draft and negotiate technology agreements and templates for use within the Splunk business.
  • Support supplier due diligence processes to ensure compliance with customer demand, laws, regulations and internal policies.
  • Develop positive, strong, and collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners across Splunk to deliver on complex tasks. Pitch in on other responsibilities as needed

Must-have Qualifications

  • JD degree from ABA accredited university and member in good standing of the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience providing legal support to technology businesses at both a well-regarded law firm and commercial legal department.
  • At least 1 year in the software/SaaS industry with strong understanding of cloud and SaaS technology agreements and sophisticated supply chains.
  • Ability to understand technical concepts as well as be proficient in enterprise software development methods and business models

  • Solid understanding of intellectual property, AI, data privacy, and information and product security.
  • Experience and knowledge in reviewing supplier agreements including HR, Marketing, Contingent Worker issues, AI, and technology license agreements.
  • Experience working with software developers and product managers to guide compliance and resolve complicated issues in creative and effective ways
