Role Summary

The Education Production and Development Manager is responsible for setting up, scaling, and managing a high-performing team dedicated to the rapid development of learning and training content while also overseeing all aspects of media production, including planning, coordination, and execution of learning courses.
This role involves managing a production team, timelines, and resources to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of education content. It requires a strategic and hands-on leader with a strong background in instructional design, e-learning development, and team management. The ideal candidate is an organized, creative professional with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of media production and building and optimizing content development processes.

What you'll get to do

  • Project Management: Lead and manage the entire production lifecycle, from pre-production planning to post-production and final delivery. This includes creating production schedules, setting milestones, and managing timelines. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple learning content projects simultaneously. Develop project plans, manage timelines, allocate resources, and ensure quality and consistency across all deliverables.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee media production team and ensure that the team works cohesively to meet project goals. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture. Provide professional development opportunities, performance feedback, and guidance to team members to ensure their growth and success.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all media content meets company quality standards and adheres to brand guidelines. Review and approve all final deliverables before distribution/publishing.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the curriculum development team, Tech enablement team, SMEs, PMO team, and Ops team to understand project objectives, align production strategies, and communicate progress.
  • Equipment/Software Management: Oversee the maintenance, procurement, and organization of production equipment and software. Ensure that the team has the necessary tools and technology to produce high-quality content.
  • Innovation and Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in media production and eLearning design. Implement new techniques and tools to enhance production efficiency and quality.
  • Content Development Strategy and Process: Design and implement a scalable content development strategy that enables the rapid creation of engaging learning materials, ensuring alignment with SMEs and learner needs. Streamline content development processes and implement best practices to maximize efficiency, including the adoption of rapid prototyping methods, agile workflows, and feedback loops.
  • Performance Measurement: Track and analyze the effectiveness of learning content through learner feedback, performance metrics, and course completion data. Use insights to continuously improve and refine development approaches.

Must-have Qualifications

  • Years of Experience: 10+ years at the intersection of media production and learning development, including a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role. Strong background in designing and developing digital learning experiences.
  • Team Leadership, Coaching & Mentorship: Experience leading creative and diverse team. Ability to foster growth by mentoring team members, building morale, and encouraging a collaborative culture.
  • Instructional Design: Proficiency in instructional design principles, particularly for rapid development. Familiarity with ADDIE, SAM, or Agile methodologies for course development.
  • Portfolio: Proven track record of leading successful projects across various media forms (video, audio, digital, broadcast).
  • Technical Skills: Strong familiarity with production processes, tools, and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Avid, and After Effects).
  • Authoring/Development Software: Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools like Articulate 360, Storyline, Captivate, and Rise.
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS): Experience managing content in LMS platforms (e.g., Mindtickle, SBX Cloud, Cornerstone).
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to work closely with SMEs, curriculum designers, and other stakeholders to align content with strategic goals.
  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, educational technology, or a related field or media production.
  • Certifications: Certifications in instructional design (e.g., ATD, CPTD, or CPLP), project management (e.g., PMP or Agile certification.

  • Learning Analytics: Proficiency in using data analytics to track course effectiveness, learner engagement, and ROI for continuous content improvement.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business goals to ensure alignment with training and development objectives.
  • User-Centered Design: Experience in leveraging learner personas and feedback to design engaging, high-impact learning experiences that meet end-user needs.
  • Budgeting & Scheduling: Expertise in managing timelines and resources for multiple projects, often simultaneously.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to coordinate across SMEs and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Skilled in crisis management and navigating unexpected challenges during development and production.
