Accounting Supervisor or Manager

Description

This key role will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including but not limited to general ledger, financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and compliance reporting. The position will also drive new initiatives and identify process improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy of general ledger and financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies
  • Manage end-to-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reporting/analysis
  • Supervise the general ledger team to ensure all financial reporting and analysis deadlines are met
  • Work with Operations Management team for accurate inventory cost accounting
  • Liaise with FP&A to review actual variances and help prepare forecast/budget
  • Assist in audit/taxes processes and preparing audit/taxes schedules
  • Manage property and sales tax filings
  • Provides critical checks and balances of all system designs and changes that affect the flow of financial data throughout the Company
  • Work with direct reports to establish goals and objectives and enhance the professional development of staff
  • Provides accounting oversight and integration support on major projects
  • Partner with the IT team to manage and oversee the integrated functions of the Company’s financial systems and accounting processes
  • Assist with special projects as assigned


Education and Additional Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree with emphasis in accounting or equivalent education, Master's Degree a plus
  • 2+ years Accounting Supervisor/Manager experience in the Corporate Accounting environment
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP (ASC 606 Revenue Recognition and cost accounting are a plus)
  • Understanding of accounting processes and internal controls with experience in designing and utilizing workflow
  • Solid understanding and working knowledge of ERP systems, as well as other business applications, including Excel, Word, Power Point
  • High level of integrity that exemplifies honesty, trustworthiness and fairness
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, and social interaction
  • Planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and carry critical projects to completion
