Position: Data Analyst

This is a fully remote opportunity at Spire Health. You will not be required to relocate.

Summary:
The Data Analyst sits in Spire’s Clinical Evidence team. Our work drives insights about the impact of our RPM service in the field. It also presents the evidence that our customers require to justify deploying the service in their practice or system. You will wrangle, analyze, visualize, and report clinical, demographic, and event data captured from the use of our system in the field. You will collaborate with biostatisticians, EMR chart coders, and researchers. Results from these analyses could lead to deeper engagement from clinical sites, changes to the service, preliminary data for research studies, and/or marketing opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Data wrangling (extracting, organizing, de-identifying, and assembling clinical data)

  • Data analytics (python, descriptive statistics, figure rendering)

  • Data presentation (prepare figures for publication & presentation)

  • Discuss with research staff to gather requirements for data analysis projects

  • Define a project plan based on these discussions

  • Understand the structure and nature of existing data sources. Define a plan to ingest, analyze, and visualize that data. Ensure that the data columns are non-ambiguous, raise issues when they are, work to ensure you have a clean dataset.

  • Use the existing data analysis environment (python notebooks) and refine them to remove bugs and add analyses

  • Explore analytical methods to ensure we are using the appropriate python libraries to achieve our goals

  • Manage multiple projects concurrently

  • Update research staff on concerns or blockages so that you can remain productive.

Experience and Education:

           Must-haves:

  • A technical background that involved statistics (e.g., computer science, data science, pre-med, engineering, psychology, math, statistics)

  • Experience or strong interest in working with python notebooks

  • Excitement about data: clinical data but also product usage data, adherence data

    Nice-to-haves:

  • Masters or Bachelors in Data Analytics or Data Science or in one of the above disciplines

  • Experience with hypothesis testing

  • Experience with clinical, medical, EMR, and/or EHR data

  • Experience with git

  • Regulated industry experience (e.g., medical devices, drug development)


Functional Description:

Assembles, manages, analyzes, and visualizes datasets from disparate sources. Ensures clear organization of datasets, ensures code is understandable, and reports approach and output frompython notebooks. Documents code sufficiently to communicate their approach. Provides, where necessary additional documentation in internal wiki. Must adhere to the Spire quality management system and be prepared for formal quality control of all work undertaken.

Work Environment:

This is a remote-friendly position but may require light travel within the U.S. to occasionally be on-site with our customers to aid data collection. Spire Health has a vaccine policy – please see below.
