About us:

Spire Health is building the future of remote patient monitoring.  We give physicians insights into their patients' health between doctor visits, helping them better manage high-risk chronic disease patients.  In particular, we serve patients in the U.S. who have chronic respiratory diseases (COPD, Asthma) with a novel sensor and algorithm system that identifies changes in a patient's health.

Summary:

The Principal Android Engineer will be responsible for the development and delivery of our Patient facing system. Your work provides the patient-interface for our Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) system providing an event-driven stream of patient data to clinicians and dashboards.

 

Requirements:

You will help build the team and drive best practices, guide agile processes, and implement sound development methodologies. You will write and debug code, review PRs, and monitor and analyze the application in production.

Your application interfaces with wearable device-hardware and backend-software and you will work closely with those teams. Your application uses BLE to communicate with and manage multiple patient-monitoring devices. Your application is used by patients and clinicians and is key to the patient onboarding and monitoring processes so you will be working with and gathering requirements from people and teams involved in those activities. Your application will run on managed devices so you will interact with MDM vendors and operations teams.

You will collaborate with Customer Support and Complaints management to track issues with Android devices at Patient’s homes, determining root cause and subsequent remedial actions.  You will collaborate with Operations to identify, evaluate and recommend suitable hardware devices and Mobile Device Management (MDM) Services, incorporating Product Management’s needs.  You will identify, evaluate and understand new OS versions, hotfixes and security alerts as they become available.

 

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience building Android apps with the Android SDK and Kotlin
  • 2+ years leading development teams
  • 5+ years experience delivering production software
