Technical Project Manager

Description

Spire is seeking a Technical Project Manager to drive high-impact product development initiatives. The successful candidate has a proven ability to lead a cross functional team through all product development stages in the Medical Device space, and is able to influence and resolve competing priorities at various levels in a growing organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive end-to-end program management activities for predominantly complex software with some electronic hardware projects, from concept to release.
  • Working with the Director Project Management, responsible for initial project planning, including:
    • Synthesizing the project work breakdown structures, schedules and project risk into an integrated plan.
    • Identifies key interdependencies that impact successful execution of the overall project.
  • Schedules, plans, runs and memorializes regular project team meetings, including:
    • Prioritizing meeting agenda and controlling meeting.
    • Recording key outcome, actions and team decisions.
    • Coordinate activities/tasks and identifying resource gaps.
    • Tracks schedule to plan and monitors critical path changes.
    • Providing guidance to team on priorities and upcoming schedules.
    • Keeping project risk registry updated to identifies potential issues, and plans mitigations.
  • Coordinates project Design Reviews as needed; organizes Phase Gate meetings and other Go/No-Go decisions with Management.
  • Responsible for compliance to medical device design control procedures and product development process for all aspects of the program.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent project management skills, including:
    • Ability to develop and manage a detailed project schedule,
    • Ability to establish and manage priorities,
    • Ability to work to deadlines,
    • Ability to manage several, potentially overlapping, projects simultaneously with various technologies and in various stages of development.
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to convey status clearly and effectively through documents, reports, and presentations to management.
  • Proven success managing complex development projects in a regulated environment.
  • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a distributed team-based environment.
  • Ability to manage conflict professionally, strong “can do” attitude.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 5+ years relevant experience in new product development within the medical device industry.
    • Other equivalent experience considered on a case by case basis
  • Experience developing regulated medical products required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Powerpoint required.
  • Experience developing mobile and Web Apps and Agile development methodologies/practices.
  • Knowledge of Medical Device processes.
  • Knowledge and experience working with software development tools that offer requirements management, bug/issue tracking and project management e.g. MS Project, Codebeamer and Jira
  • Experience with Human Factors Validation preferred.
