Spire Health is the market leader in continuous respiration sensing and high-adherence, patient-friendly ambulatory monitoring. Our mission is to harness the power of algorithms and sensors to improve health outcomes by empowering patients and physicians with useful and actionable data. We currently work with partners across a range of health conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), congestive heart failure, asthma, sleep disorders and anxiety.

 Spire Health was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in San Francisco where much of the product and engineering team are based.  There is a growing team based on the east coast working remotely or out of the NYC office, which is focused on sales, marketing and delivery.  This team is responsible for filling the commercial pipeline of the organization and closing sales and is expected to grow in size considerably in the next 12-18months.

 Spire Health markets an end to end remote patient monitoring platform, which has two components:

  • A unique sensor technology, which can be mailed directly to patients, is quick and easy for the patient to setup themselves and is 100% passive
  • A monitoring service staffed by trained clinicians who monitor the patients 7days/week and call the patient in response to changes in their health detected by the technology

Spire Health’s customers are outpatient pulmonology groups, hospitals and health systems, as well as research organizations seeking to use Spire Health’s unique technology to improve patient care or advance medical knowledge. Spire has signed up over 20 customers, enrolled over 4000 patients and is present in over 10 states.

Job Summary:

Spire Health is seeking an experienced and passionate sales executive to help drive top line sales growth of Spire Health’s commercial solutions.  This individual will work remotely and will report to the Vice President of Commercial.

The right candidate will be capable both of delivering high value sales into B2B medical environments, as well as growing and managing sales teams.  They will also have a demonstrable record of growing top line revenue and sales teams within a pharmaceutical or medical device company.

The individual filling this role will be expected to lead and manage the growing Spire sales team, currently comprising 7 regional sales directors but expected to grow to 15 sales professionals over the next 24 months. In addition to having full responsibility of meeting sales targets and growing the sales team, the national sales manager will also be expected to lead sales with high value customers such as national accounts, large health systems and/or insurance plans. This role will involve extensive travel throughout the US, >50% of time.


  • Full Accountability of meeting company sales and revenue goals
  • Manage and coach sales team to hit predefined personal sales targets
  • Drive high value sales with national or larger accounts
  • Manage leads generated from company multi-channel marketing activities
  • Drive recruitment of new sales professionals
  • Work closely with the marketing team to refine sales and marketing materials
  • Work closely with delivery teams to ensure seamless launch of contracted customers
  • Work closely with product team to incorporate customer feedback
  • Assist with the evolution of the Spire Health commercial model


  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, business or computer science
  • Masters Degree or MBA desirable
  • 15+ years experience in medical B2B sales
  • Demonstrable track record of de novo sales origination and revenue growth
  • Experience growing and managing sales teams
  • Extensive experience working in healthcare industry, ideally within pharma/med device
  • Knowledge of respiratory health highly advantageous
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use Apple/Microsoft/Google software suites
  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexibility to travel frequently (>50% of time) and at short notice
  • Ability to work and live in the US
