Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation is the world’s leading manufacturer of high voltage power supply, X-Ray generator and Monoblock® X-Ray sources. Our products power medical diagnostic imaging, scientific research equipment, airline security systems, food and consumer product scanners, and intercontinental communications. Spellman’s power sources enable the improvement, and saving, of lives.

  • As a member of an energetic and fast paced engineering team, you will have the opportunity to be involved in the mechanical design of advanced high voltage power supplies used in medical imaging, analytical instrumentation, industrial test equipment, security & under water communication, amongst many others.
  • We pride ourselves in training, building relationships and value engineering our products. With the expertise you bring on board, you will be working with some of the most experienced engineers in the field and report directly to the director of product design of the engineering department headed by the vice president of global engineering technology.

  • Your primary responsibility will be the mechanical design and packaging of Spellman products. This will include but not limited to; participating in the design review meetings to help conceptualizing the product, interfacing with both outside and inside customers to assure proper fit and compliance with all requirements. Designing proper mechanical packaging of products using various CAD & Analysis tools to ensure meeting customer specs and allow efficient manufacturing in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities or outside suppliers, as needed.

Demonstrate compliance with product specific design and application requirements through engineering calculations including mechanical and thermal stresses, as needed.

You will be asked to work and collaborate closely with the electrical engineers, other members of the Mechanical Design group, the Manufacturing Engineering and the Quality Teams, to produce the most suitable product satisfying stringent design criteria’s and the DFX guidelines for manufacturability and reliability.

  • Design documentation is one of the most important tasks for the mechanical engineering group. This entails creating 2D/3D detailed parts and full assembly drawings, creating and maintaining BOMs and revisions and specifying new parts and processes.
