We are seeking a strategic, data-driven, and innovative Director of Paid Social with pharmaceutical industry experience to lead paid social media efforts. This role will oversee strategy, execution, and performance across multiple brands, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines while maximizing engagement, efficiency, and business impact.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned paid social expert with deep knowledge of platform capabilities, audience insights, media strategies, and measurement frameworks and has an entrepreneurial growth mindset. They will ensure paid social is fully integrated into broader marketing strategies and collaborate closely with social channel and content strategy team, creative, media, analytics, compliance, and biddable media teams. Additionally, this leader will play a key role in enhancing the Paid Social discipline, improving profitability, and fostering career growth within their team.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Execution
  • Develop and oversee paid social strategy, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead paid social campaign execution, integrating efforts within broader digital and omnichannel strategies.
  • Partner and communicate clearly with supervisors, creative team, project managers and account counterparts to ensure social media strategy and execution delivers quality work
  • Have a point of view on all major social media platforms
  • Define and implement best practices for targeting, engagement, and measurement.
  • Partner with Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) teams to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with the social channel and content strategy team for cohesive brand messaging.
Paid Social Performance & Optimization
  • Oversee campaign execution, pacing, and optimization for efficiency and impact.
  • Identify audience segmentation and personalization opportunities.
  • Lead A/B testing, audience insights, and attribution modeling for continuous improvement
Data, Analytics & Profitability
  • Establish measurement frameworks to assess paid social effectiveness.
  • Partner with analytics teams to track performance and drive optimizations.
  • Work with the Biddable Media lead to identify cost efficiencies and increase media profitability.
  • Stay ahead of platform trends, algorithm changes, and regulatory shifts.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • Lead and mentor a team of paid social specialists, fostering career growth and a culture of continuous learning.
  • Collaborate across teams to align social efforts with broader marketing strategies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, translating paid social insights into business impact.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
  • 7+ years in social media marketing, with 4+ years in a leadership role focused on paid social.
  • Deep expertise in pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing, including regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to develop, execute, and optimize paid social strategies across platforms.
  • Strong background in social media analytics, measurement, and performance marketing.
  • Experience in improving media margins and profitability through optimization strategies.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience leading teams, agency partners, and vendor relationships.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools (Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Talkwalker, etc.) and paid media platforms (Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, TikTok, etc.).
The anticipated salary range for this position will be $125,000-$150,000. Salary is based on job-related factors such as: years of relevant experience, qualifications and/or certifications. Spectrum reserves the right to modify this pay range at any given time.
