As the Director of FP&A at Spectrum Science, you will play a crucial role in driving internal & external financial reporting, financial strategy and decision-making processes. You will lead a team responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support business growth and profitability. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and collaborates closely with other department heads and senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning and Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to support annual budgeting, long-term strategic planning, monthly sponsor and lender reporting needs, and rolling 13-week cash flow forecasting.
- Collaborate with department heads to gather inputs, assumptions, and forecasts for budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to senior management for resource allocation and strategic decision-making.
2. Budget Management:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets.
- Implement cost control measures and efficiency improvements to optimize resource allocation and maximize profitability.
3. Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Prepare regular financial reports and dashboards for senior management, providing visibility into key performance metrics and financial health.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support business initiatives, investment opportunities, and operational improvements.
- Interpret financial results, trends, and forecasts, highlighting areas of risk and opportunity for the organization.
- Prepare monthly Management Operating Review (MOR) packages for the private equity sponsor; as well as quarterly Board of Directors presentations.
- Manage lender reporting requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial information per the credit agreement.
4. Strategic Decision Support:
- Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate strategic initiatives, including new business opportunities, client engagements, and investments.
- Assess financial implications and risks associated with proposed strategies, providing insights to support decision-making.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, offering financial perspective and recommendations to drive business growth and profitability.
5. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A):
- Evaluate new acquisition opportunities, conducting financial analysis and due diligence to assess strategic fit and financial viability.
- Support the M&A deal execution process, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate successful transactions.
- Provide financial expertise and insights to support negotiations, integration planning, and post-acquisition performance monitoring.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in financial due diligence within an accounting firm.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and variance analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on driving business results and continuous improvement.
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions, including financial analysis, due diligence, and deal execution.
The anticipated salary range for this position will be $160K-$185K. Salary is based on job-related factors such as: years of relevant experience, qualifications and/or certifications. Spectrum reserves the right to modify this pay range at any given time.
