Job Title: Document Control Specialist – Contract/Temp
Department: Operations/Quality (Document Control)
Location: Onsite in Boulder 5 days/week
Candidates must reside within commuting distance of our Boulder, CO office. Relocation assistance is not available. Only local candidates will be considered
Compensation: $23.50-$28.50/hour dependent on the candidates skills and depth of experience
Length of Assignment: Up to 6 months
Job Summary:
Provide support to the Document Control function by helping work through an existing documentation backlog. This role will assist with reviewing old items, organizing requests, gathering inputs from subject matter experts, preparing draft updates, and keeping documentation records clean so higher-priority work can move faster.
Key Work & Deliverables
This role will focus on support tasks that do not require approvals or technical decisions. They will gather inputs, organize information, prepare drafts, and queue work for review and approval.
- Review backlog documentation requests in Jira to identify items that may no longer be needed, or are ready to move forward
- Work with engineers and other SMEs to capture inputs and prepare document updates
- Participate with tracking basic progress tracking metrics discussed in weekly review meetings
- Helping to maintain the document library
Expected outcomes:
- Visible progress on cleaning up documentation backlog items including review, organization, and completion
- Improved readiness of documentation items entering weekly review
Experience & Background
- 1-3 years in document control, manufacturing operations, quality or a related environment preferred.
- Exposure to engineering change processes or controlled documentation systems is a plus.
- Associate degree or coursework in business, technical writing, manufacturing, or a related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills or strengths to be successful:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
- Comfortable working with engineers and cross-functional teams, and not afraid to ask questions
- Proficient in standard office tools (Word/Excel); experience with Jira, Confluence, or Sharepoint is a plus
- Able to manage multiple tasks and track progress across several open items simultaneously
Work Environment
This role is primarily in an office and cubicle work environment with climate control and moderate noise.
Physical Demands
This role requires daily use of computer, monitor, printer, and other peripheral equipment. Lifting is occasionally up to 10 pounds. Sitting 75% of the time. Regular use of verbal skills to interact; moderate standing, walking, twisting, bending required.
