Director of Solutions Product Management

OVERVIEW:
Spectra Logic is a global leader in data management, data protection, and data storage technology. With more than 40 years of innovation, Spectra continues to expand from infrastructure into cloud-integrated, solution-led offerings. This role owns Spectra’s Solutions portfolio, beginning with Object software (including BlackPearl) and Tape-based solutions. Initially, the role will work in close partnership with, and take strategic direction from, the Senior Director of Product Management, while maintaining broad autonomy and visibility across the organization.
The role is grounded in product management and will evolve over time to include broader market ownership, customer engagement, and commercial responsibility for Spectra’s solutions business. This is a senior, visible role with meaningful influence across engineering, sales, marketing, and executive leadership, and with the opportunity to grow scope as the business and individual develop.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Own the strategy, roadmap, and ongoing success of Spectra’s Solutions portfolio, starting with Object software and Tape solutions.
- Translate customer needs and market insights into clear solution direction and product priorities.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Solution Architects, Sales, and Marketing to deliver differentiated, market-ready solutions.
- Lead solution launches and lifecycle management, ensuring alignment across teams.
- Support sales and customer engagement through solution positioning, presentations, and direct customer interaction as needed.
- Build strong relationships with key partners and suppliers to support solution strategy.
- Contribute to the long-term evolution of Spectra’s solutions business as scope and responsibility expand.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in product management, systems engineering, or solution leadership within storage, infrastructure, or cloud-adjacent technologies.
- Experience with object storage, backup/archive solutions, and data management technologies; tape experience preferred.
- Strong business judgment with the ability to balance technical depth and commercial impact.
- Comfort working cross-functionally and engaging with customers, partners, and senior stakeholders.
- Clear communicator with a pragmatic, hands-on approach and the ability to adapt as the role evolves.
COMPENSATION:
Base salary range: $220,000-260,000 annually plus bonus. While this salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, a candidate’s actual salary will be competitive based on a variety of factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience and location.
