Job Title: Staff Accountant
Compensation - $65-80K/ year
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with at least 2 years of accounting experience. This role will be responsible for assisting with daily accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and eager to grow their accounting knowledge while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with at least 2 years of accounting experience. This role will be responsible for assisting with daily accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and eager to grow their accounting knowledge while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and journal entries
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation
- Assist with audits by preparing supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles (GAAP)
- Identify and recommend process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting issues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience (corporate or public)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ERP systems
- Familiarity with reconciliations and financial reporting processes
