Position Summary
Responsible to safely operate commercial truck for delivery of product to customer locations. Responsible for backhaul pick-ups from vendor locations. Required to unload or load product by hand or other means. Perform routine vehicle inspections and operate vehicle in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with DOT/FMSCA regulations. May also be required to move trailers on complex with yard switcher, fuel equipment and wash equipment.

Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma (Preferred)
or GED
Job Experience
One year of at least 100,000 miles of safe all-season commercial driving experience required.
Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with good all seasons driving record.
Must be able to work up to 60 hours per week including nights, weekends and holidays.
Must pass DOT physical examination and DOT pre employment drug test; subject to periodic random alcohol and drug test.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties
Responsible to safely operate commercial truck on designated route to deliver products as per delivery schedule and for backhaul pick-ups from vendor locations.
Required to unload or load product by hand or other means. Assist to unload truck/trailers at each delivery location and verify correct products are delivered and obtain delivery confirmation and customer signature.
Responsible for adhering to and understanding all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), state and local laws and regulations. Comply with all company safety rules and procedures.
Responsible for completing pre-post trip vehicle inspections before, during and at the end of the tour-of-duty.
Responsible for reporting all equipment damage, keeping equipment clean and in good operating order, and must report any mechanical defects immediately to dispatch/maintenance.
Responsible for completing and submitting all delivery paperwork to dispatch at the end of tour-of-duty as well as maintain DOT log and other delivery documentation.
Provide quality customer service at delivery and pick up locations.

Knowledge, Skills Abilities
Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work with others in a cooperative manner and maintain good customer service relations. Good time management skills and ability to maintain schedules. Good sense of direction and ability to read maps, route schedules and operate vehicle safely in a variety of traffic and weather conditions. Must be knowledgeable of FMSCA, DOT and state and local laws and regulations. Ability to work safely and independently with very little direct supervision. Basic computer knowledge (on-board computers, tractor electronics, PC's, Yard & Dock application). Occasional overnight stays required.

Must be able to use electric or manual pallet jack and pull up to 2500 pounds. The employee is required to sit up to eleven hours per day and climb in and out of tractor and trailer often. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a vehicle environment and is exposed to outside weather conditions frequently, including load/unload in extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment us usually low to moderate, but is occasionally moderate to high.
