Softcat has built a strong relationship with Cisco’s sales teams across all market segments as such our business unit grew by 45% in 2019 reaching rank no. 4 in the UK. Our Cisco Data Centre business was ranked 2nd in 2019 with plenty of opportunity to sell across the DC stack. With this momentum we are on for another strong performance this year.

The successful candidate will be key in developing awareness and knowledge across Cisco’s Data Centre Architecture portfolio. This requires a fundamental understanding of the underlying technologies, building relationships with both Softcat and Cisco’s Data Centre Sales teams and supporting strategic alliance initiatives in order to develop new business opportunities and maximise profitability.
We are looking for a proactive individual that is outgoing and capable of working on multiple deals. This person will have a solid understanding of Cisco’s Data Centre stack, manage the Data Centre pipeline/forecasting and be supporting sales opportunities and engaging directly with Cisco. The role will require excellent communication skills both internally and with Cisco.
The position can be based out of our Marlow or Manchester offices with travel requirements to support the Data Centre sales specialist team in particular.
What we need from you
- The ideal candidate should be a strong influencer, proactive and articulate.
- They will have first-rate communication and relationship building skills and be an adept organiser.
- The applicant needs to be able to integrate and work effectively with various teams at Softcat but also possess the confidence and creativity to effectively run their area of business independently.
- The candidate will be required to proactively cover all offices where sales are present and attend meetings at Cisco’s offices.
- As such you will be required to travel, and excellent time management is essential.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in sales, with some knowledge of the IT market although full training will be given.
