The Vendor Alliance team is responsible for the day to day relationship, management and engagement of a select number of Softcat’s top vendor partners. The Vendor Alliance team ensures that we have the best partnerships at all levels of vendor engagement, driving a consistent, proactive and collaborative message into Softcat. Working to enable Softcat, they plan and execute against joint business objectives to drive mutual growth. The team is now 40 strong and growing, spanning all Softcat locations providing a service to every function within the organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a strategic alliance, responsible for a top three vendor within Softcat. You will be working alongside and exposed to one of the largest IT vendors worldwide, Dell Technologies. The Dell Alliance team is fundamental in providing Softcat with the expertise, resource and relationship base to allow continuous growth from one of our key vendors.

Working under the direction of the Sr. Alliance Manager you will be fully accountable for coordinating and executing upon the joint business objectives that have been mutually agreed to drive business growth for Softcat and Dell Technologies. You will be required to operate at a senior level within the organisation, providing regular reports and updates to the business. Day to day team management and development of team members will be an ongoing requirement. You will need to demonstrate a creative approach to problem solving, whilst keeping the strategic direction of the business aligned.
With your team you will need to develop long term relationships with Dell Technologies, at all levels within the business. Using your initiative, you will also need to keep the business enabled and engaged on how to sell Dell Technologies products, services and solutions and where we need to engage with customers.
This is a management role with direct reports and a wider virtual team.
What we need from you
- People management experience is desirable.
- The capability to build relationships quickly and mature them over time.
- Have the appetite and desire to learn and take on new challenges.
- Confidence to operate and present at a senior level.
- Be a proactive, motivated and highly driven individual with the ability to grasp both the Dell product sets and the structure and processes behind selling them.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Credibility, with an entrepreneurial edge, to own and run a Top 3 vendor alliance.
