The role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Collateral team. SoFi’s Collateral team is responsible for the aggregation of loan data for loan pledges to warehouse facilities, loan sales to investors, and large volume securitizations for our Finance and Capital Markets teams in support of the critical components of how SoFi makes money. The Collateral team is also responsible for monthly reporting and generating compliance and audit data for third parties. An affinity for data wrangling and complex queries is the backbone of our team to prepare data for our stakeholders across SoFi. With the need for a high availability application with company-wide impact, leveraging automation, using complex database queries and financial algorithms, your attention to details and willingness to roll up your sleeves to tackle the next challenge, the Collateral team has everything needed to keep a complex problem solver like you happy for a very long time.

What you’ll do:

  • Development and maintenance of web application front-end and back-end components written in Java and JavaScript, Python-based automation jobs, and deployments to a Docker/Kubernetes based platform.

  • Work with Engineering, QA, and Product stakeholders in order to build the right things.

  • Collaborate with a team of like-minded engineers focused on building industry-leading software.

  • Promoting the practices and techniques and rigor that can make us faster and with less risk through reusable components and automated algorithms.

What you’ll need:

  • Fluent in at least one programming language; Java 8+, JavaScript, Python

  • Proficient with SQL and ORM

  • Proficient with the Spring ecosystem, specifically SpringBoot

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

  • Experience with Kafka and ApacheMQ

  • Experience with Linux

  • Bonus: Experience with public cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS

  • Bonus: Experience with React UI/UX 

  • Bonus: Experience with Angular UI/UX

  • Bonus: Experience with Play Framework

  • Bonus: Experience with all aspects of agile test automation

  • Bonus: Experience with Gradle and SBT
