The Role

You will have an opportunity to expand your legal research and writing skills by researching and analyzing legal and regulatory matters in a growing and innovative business model. You will also have a chance to work with commercial contracts and corporate transaction documents. These experiences will help prepare you for future roles in FinTech, entrepreneurship, startups, or law firms in corporate, regulatory, or litigation groups.

Past intern projects have included: drafting form marketing agreements for the business development group; creating term summaries of corporate transaction documents; researching and writing memos on state and federal regulatory matters impacting lenders; and updating disclosures to comply with state and federal law. Given our rapid growth and changing needs, we can’t pinpoint exactly what you’ll work on, but there are always legal and regulatory challenges in a growing business. You will be mentored by attorneys who have vast experience practicing law as in-house counsel, at federal agencies, and at large law firms in both corporate and litigation groups.

What You'll Need:

  • Interest in and knowledge of consumer finance, FinTech, or investing

  • Experience in, or business understanding of, finance, banking, or lending preferred

  • Desire to learn about corporate, regulatory, or litigation practice

  • Ability to work independently without a task list

  • Proactive and inquisitive nature

  • Current 1L
