We are looking for eager software engineers excited to dive into one of the largest opportunities at SoFi and help drive the next generation of lending products. SoFi is trying to push the boundaries of lending and provide next-level products for our members, and we are seeking anyone with big ideas and a drive to help our customers secure financial stability.
On our team, you will be in the middle of it all – implementing new functionality, architecting our system, squashing bugs, maintaining the health of our code, and continually growing as an engineer. You will be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from ideation through building, testing, deploying, monitoring and supporting mission critical systems. You’ll face and solve a wide range of challenges: technical, product, and operational, shaping your personal growth and career along the way, as well as helping mold and grow the junior members of the team. You will play a pivotal role in the platform architecture of the team, and be able to become a leader for all of lending engineering, helping improve the development ecosystem within SoFi.
A successful home loans platform is instrumental in the future and success of the company, and you have the opportunity to help shape and guide that future and exponentially grow the customer base of this product, as well as become a large voice in the leadership of SoFi engineering.
What you’ll do:
We’re looking for front-end, back-end, or full-stack engineers who are comfortable:
Architecting, designing, and delivering scalable highly-available services and/or creating responsive, performant, and maintainable React-based web apps
Owning and ideating on technical solutions for complex user stories, often coordinating multiple teams and efforts at once
Leading code and design reviews
Deep-diving and proving out new initiatives and technologies
Influencing the system architecture and platform design for multiple products/verticals
Becoming domain experts on the Home Loans business and systems
Collaborating and representing engineering with executive stakeholders in product marketing, operations, business, legal, and compliance
Working in a fast-moving, highly-collaborative environment across multiple offices
Mentoring more junior members of the team and helping foster a learning environment within the team
Driving the team strategy and technical direction, demonstrating efficient solutions and sustainable development practices for the entire team
What you’ll need:
Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in a technical field, but we understand great engineers come from all sorts of different backgrounds and also consider relevant work experience
8+ years programming experience on a modern stack.
Experience with microservice architecture and launching cloud-based services.
Willingness to roll up your sleeves, collaborate with others and get stuff done
Strong sense of responsibility; driving multiple projects from inception to completion
Affinity for solving problems and diving deep into the details
Experience working in a collaborative coding environment, refining designs together, working through code reviews and managing pull requests
Expertise with Agile methodologies as well as software testing: unit, integration, and end-to-end
Deep understanding of scalable and resilient architectures and design patterns
A passion for pushing CI/CD to its limits
Nice to have:
Full-stack engineering experience, or a willingness and passion to broaden your technical skill set
Expertise with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Spring Boot, React, AWS.
A passion for well-tested code and utilizing testing frameworks (Cypress/Nightwatch/Selenium/Spock)
Masters’ degree in a relevant technical field
