The role

SoFi is looking for a Senior Research & Insights Manager to report into our Head of Brand Strategy & Marketing to drive and evolve the understanding of our current and prospective members. As SoFi continues to grow and serve more people, it is essential that we put our members first when it comes to building and communicating our brand and products. As the primary research leader on the marketing team you will set the strategic vision for research throughout the org and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to develop actionable insights that guide strategic decision-making. In every project, strategic and executional, you will represent the voice of the consumer and draw that perspective from rigorous data collection and analysis.

What you’ll do:

  • Create & execute a consumer insights strategy and vision that supports product marketing, brand & creative efforts

  • Lead our consumer understanding to identify unmet needs, barriers, market whitespace, and growth opportunities

  • Lead the development and execution of custom research and analytics across consumer segmentation, advertising campaigns, member engagement initiatives, & UI/UX testing

  • Deliver strategic insights and recommendations for product positioning, communication, & persona development

  • Drive the discovery and infusion of consumer insights required to evolve the SoFi brand, business model & go-to-market efforts

  • Own the reporting & measurement of SoFi’s brand tracker and draw insights to diagnose key drivers of business performance with recommendations on how to move forward

  • Maintain a strong voice grounded in consumer insights to drive strategy across product marketing, brand & creative efforts

  • Foster strong working relationships with internal functions and manage external research vendors

What you’ll need:

  • 3-5 years of experience in consumer & strategic insights at a consumer brand (high-growth start up/CPG) or research agency

  • Must be able to design, structure, execute and manage both quantitative and qualitative research

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods & analysis tools such as SAS, SPSS, SQL, Tableau or R

  • Extensive knowledge of market research tools and methods with the ability to solve business problems through traditional & innovative methods

  • Strong interpretive skills & ability to quickly understand data and draw conclusions

  • Demonstrated success collaborating, partnering, and influencing at all levels and across all functions of an organization

  • Skillful storyteller with experience presenting to executive stakeholders

  • Comfortable managing & prioritizing requests, deadlines, and deliverables in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity in a fast-paced and self-driven environment
