The role

The Member team focuses on the holistic experience from the moment a member creates an account to when they’re ready to make important decisions in their financial journey. We engage our members by providing the tools, content, and insights to get their money right and work collaboratively with product teams to offer a unified and personalized experience on the SoFi platform.  This role focuses on inventing the future of personal finance through personalization, artificial intelligence and world class, contextual content. As a design leader, you will work across SoFi’s lines of business including Money, Invest, Relay and much more to help people get their money right. What you’ll do:

  • Design product features from start-to-finish, from the early sketching and concept phases to final pixel-perfect Sketch files that are ready to ship

  • Work closely with the Design Lead, Research, Product Management, and Engineering partners and be able to quickly iterate based on feedback

  • Develop user-centered design solutions based on research, member insights, and industry best-practices

  • Create design specs and presentation documents

  • Present design concepts and clearly communicate design intent

  • Collaborate with other product designers working on other projects to drive alignment and consistency across the entire user experience

What you’ll need:

  • 8+ yrs experience successfully shipping products and features from start to finish

  • Expert knowledge of best practices in UI / UX and information architecture across iOS, Android and responsive web

  • Expert understanding of current design tools (Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Invision)

  • Strong time management, planning, and collaboration skills

  • Strong understanding of how to use data analytics, user testing and research to inform and validate design decisions and focus on constant improvement

  • Track record for delivering end to end solutions from initial concepts to measurable outcomes

  • Experience presenting work to senior leadership and advocating for user needs in the context of business and technology drivers

  • Strong presentation skills, able to effectively communicate design solutions to engineering, product, marketing, business, and executive leadership

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment using tools like Jira and Confluence

  • A portfolio URL or PDF to submit with application with examples of mobile and responsive web product design
