The role

As Director of Web Strategy, you will own defining the vision and roadmap for marketing website and manage a team to execute the vision. You will be responsible for defining web metrics and KPIs in order to optimize conversion and engagement to continue the growth of The Director works cross-functionally with Product Marketing and Web Development teams in order to align web development in accordance to business strategy and is able to translate business priorities into orchestrated implementation, deliver business value and measurable outcomes. 

The Director is accountable for ensuring that the Web team is effectively working with partners and collaborators. You must have strong business and leadership skills and extensive experience with web delivery, web analytics, site/conversion optimization, site structure and content production, etc. and a proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Define strategic vision and roadmap for

  • Lead the Web team to execute 2020  plan including launch new product/landing pages, improve site infrastructure/content/experience and own success metrics/KPIs.

  • Drive collaboration among product, marketing, engineering and creative.

  • Act as technical and business lead for site architecture and performance.

  • Lead best in class web experience for prospect audiences and SoFi members and optimize by marketing channel.

  • Scale web/site experimentation utilizing methodologies such as A/B testing and machine learning.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a technical discipline, or equivalent experience.

  • 12+  years of experience in a product or web-related role at an ecommerce, technology or financial services organization.

  • 5+ years of experience managing teams.

  • Up-to-date with developments in web and mobile design, best practices, general web functions and standards, and how these are evolving.

  • Strong technical background and experience, including working with a myriad of tech-related job functions such as engineering (both frontend + backend), dev operations, data scientists, and UX.

  • Exceptionally strong background in analytics and reporting to shape and define conversion rate optimization (CRO) and experimentation strategy.

  • Proven success of strong leadership, management, communications, and people skills with excellent interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to influence, collaborate and communicate across all levels and across lines of business, internal resources and external vendors. Deep experience presenting to C-level leadership.

  • Innovative thinker willing to challenge status quo and promote creative solutions to solve problems and overcome hurdles.

  • Meticulous about details while being able to iterate and adapt quickly.

  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices.

  • Experience working with editorial teams, creative directors and external vendors.

  • Experience with personalization and A/B testing tools like Google Optimize, Optimizely, Visual Web Optimizer, and Unbounce.

  • Experience with tracking and data tools like HotJar, Google Analytics, Google Data Studio or similar data visualizer.
