The Role

As a Principal Product Owner, you will drive technology innovation in SoFI’s mobile applications. You will help create the long-term strategy, vision, and roadmap, with a high degree of ownership over the architecture and critical features for our members’ mobile experience.

This role is inherently cross-functional--you will work closely with engineering, design, operations, finance, and executive teams to set technology strategy, define and prioritize features. You'll bridge technical and business worlds engaging with matrixed teams including engineering, design, operations, legal, risk, compliance and you must drive internal stakeholder and partner engagements necessary for the on-time shipping of our apps.

As the Principal Product Owner, your role will be to take business requirements and convert them into mobile products. You will work on translating business goals into requirements for the Core Design and Mobile engineering teams. You’ll be responsible for driving key features as new capabilities are enabled on Apple and Google’s mobile platforms.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive disruptive innovative solutions in a customer centric environment

  • Build a vision, strategy and own a multi-year product roadmap

  • Break vision into phases, prioritize and drive backlogs for launch with your dedicated engineering teams

  • Own BI, instrumentation and data and analysis to drive deep understanding, innovation and product plans.

  • Lead teams in a fast paced agile environment

  • Work with internal project stakeholders from marketing, sales, operations, community and executive management to translate customer needs into a product.

  • Work closely with engineering to own and dive deep into backlogs , definition of done and technical details.

  • Lead extensive framework of experimentation in order to drive customer impact.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with a technical discipline, or equivalent experience

  • Deep knowledge of iOS and Android platforms, as well a keen understanding of other mobile technologies such as Martech SDKs

  • Demonstrated experience shipping commercially successful consumer mobile applications

  • Superior communication skills, written and verbal

  • Experience presenting to C-level leadership

  • Proven management of complex product development cycles and highly technical solutions

  • Ability to work with remote teams

  • Track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice to Have:

  • MBA with BS or higher in Computer Science

  • 10+ years product management

  • Passion for fintech

  • Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
