Description

The Sr. Buyer will report to the Sr. Director, Supply Chain and will be responsible for supplier management and procurement functions.  This position includes procurement as per the Company’s requirements for both direct and indirect materials and services, fixed assets, and tooling. The Buyer will help to negotiate company costs, quality and delivery goals.  This position must have excellent technical, analytical and problem-solving skills, be detail-oriented and highly organized with a proven ability to manage priorities, exercise good judgement, follow process and approval requirements, and have flexibility in the face of evolving projects and product requirements.

 

  • Produce detailed purchase orders and amendments for products, services and/or special tools
  • Own, track and report on each milestone from forecast, PO creation, in transit and receipt into inventory to meet business needs
  • Coordinate with engineering and product management to facilitate the execution of new product release into production, through end-of-life obsolescence planning
  • Manage suppliers to improve any performance issues, understanding when to engage and introduce new suppliers ensuring a smooth transition and minimal risks
  • Identify “best in class” suppliers to management that possess superior technology, agile abilities, market aligned cost, quality accreditations and delivery competitiveness
  • Able to apply a balance of quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Knowledge of market changes on pricing, material trends, technology advancements or shortages that could potentially impact the business

 

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience within procurement and supplier management
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate level Excel skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in consumer electronics
  • Experience with SAP Business 1
  • Developed aptitude on computer programs relating to supply chain, software, and knowledge of purchasing/accounting processes
  • Ability to review and interpret mechanical drawings and datasheets
