Case Coordinator

Forensic United States

Description

SNA International seeks a Case Coordinator with a strong work ethic to join our team on a part-time basis. Our team works together in pursuit of the same cause: building a safe and just world by empowering organizations to use forensics, biometrics, and identity intelligence.

The Case Coordination team at DPAA is dedicated to accomplishing the day-to-day tasks across the agency, to include all case tracking, queries, DNA testing requests, coordination with projects and AFDIL, etc.  At present, there is a need to update and scrub the current case tracking system used by the case manager for non-project cases.  The current case load is over 200, and an additional 100-150 are projected for the CY. The effort culminates in the construction of a MEDEX memo needed to push the case for identification by the DPAA Medical Examiner.  Further, development of a potential better tracking system via current DPAA electronic resources should be considered.

Critical work responsibilities:

  • In depth understanding of DPAA case management system to include Qlik, DCTM, and the Laboratory Case Files.
  • Participate in updating all existing cards in the White Board planner space for all conflicts present with FAR, FOR, Isotope, and DNA results.
  • Participate in the development of training materials on current case tracking and case progression for non-project cases.
  • In depth understanding of forensic test results; can use those results to create and cull short lists for potential candidates for identification.
  • Communicates the need for additional testing, what that testing may include, and detailed reasoning for why that testing is needed.
  • Develop and finalize MEDEX memos for identification.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Follows all client policies and procedures.
  • Completes recurring duties independently, but refers deviations, problems, or unfamiliar situations to the supervisor for assistance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in appropriate scientific discipline, such as anthropology, forensic anthropology, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • A demonstrated history of initiative and achievement.
