Records Management Specialist (Special Project)

Description

SNA International, a world leader in forensics, biometrics, and identity intelligence, is currently seeking a full-time, temporary Records Management Specialist to support the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), Scientific Analysis (SA) Directorate at the Nebraska Laboratory in Omaha, Nebraska.
 

The Records Management Specialist will support DPAA in maintaining critical procedures and standards related to the compilation, storage, maintenance, and retrieval of case record materials and associated records. This role requires strict adherence to accreditation requirements, standard operating procedures, and enforceable records management standards.

 

**This position is on-site in Omaha Nebraska

 

Critical Work Responsibilities (Nebraska Laboratory):

  • Maintain records management systems and databases for physical and digital records produced by the Scientific Analysis Directorate.
  • Assemble, quality check, track, and manage case files and records.
  • Print and assemble Identification booklets for distribution to Service Casualty Offices (SCOs) and family members of accounted-for Service members.
  • Maintain and enhance the Scientific Analysis reference library.
  • Assist with research, identification, and procurement of reference materials for inclusion in the SA library catalog.
  • Assist with the curation and maintenance of anatomical and synoptic (non-biological) reference collections.
  • Conduct regular inventories of reference collection materials and utilize photography equipment, variable light sources, and other imaging tools to document and catalog collection items.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of databases and data sheets used to manage and control reference collection materials.
  • Support related activities for DPAA’s Scientific Analysis Directorate as required.
  • Produce a Final Report for Government review and approval.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in an appropriate discipline such as library science, business administration, curation, or a related field, with demonstrated experience in records management.
  • Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) preferred.

 

Employment Status:

This is a temporary, full-time position expected to conclude in May 2027. Continuation beyond this date is not guaranteed and is dependent on contract requirements.
