Job Title: Collections Analyst

Summary/Objective

We are seeking a Collections Analyst to join the Smarsh Finance team. You'll have the opportunity to work with our senior Collections Analyst to significantly impact outstanding accounts. The work will require a high level of attention to detail and organization. As you go, you'll learn how to research root cause, as well as how to approach our clients in an inclusive, empathetic manner while still bringing accounts current. We’re looking for someone who has demonstrated a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to quickly switch from one task to another. Success in this role requires strong customer service and communication skills
 

Essential Functions

  • Review all past due accounts assigned and determines the appropriate collection action to be taken, based on each individual client
  • Collect on delinquent accounts by contacting customers via telephone and email
  • Review terms of contract and service with client, and explain various payment options
  • Report progress of collections to Supervisor, make recommendations for write-off
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other departments in determining how to best balance both customer and Company needs
  • Assist with various reporting and analysis, as needed


Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional open office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Position Type

This is a full-time hourly/salary position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Education and Experience

  • At least one year of relevant consumer collection or billing experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Familiar with accounting and CRM software – Intacct, Zuora, Salesforce preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • High volume collection environment
  • Maintain confidentiality in a professional environment
