Manager, Security Engineering

As the Manager of the Security Engineering team, you will lead the Security Engineering team to drive the adoption of industry leading SaaS platform security practices and tooling across an array of SaaS product offerings used by some of the largest financial firms in the world. To do that, you'll be working with a variety of teams across product, engineering, and operations on a day to day basis.

Essential Functions

  • Lead, coach, and empower the Security Engineering team.
  • Lead, coach, and empower the Security Engineering team.
  • Coordinate and align prioritization of security efforts with a variety of agile product, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Develop, plan, and direct the implementation of security and compliance programs across an array of SaaS product offerings.
    Coordinate security incident management and response.
  • Provide oversight to a variety of security stakeholders to ensuring that technical systems and processes manage risk appropriately.
  • Drive a continual risk assessment process. Measure and report on inherent and residual information security risks to stakeholders including senior management and regulators and make recommendations to ensure that decisions are made to ensure residual risk is within the tolerance of the business.
  • Represent Smarsh in the evaluation of security risk management practices and residual risk to stakeholders including banking industry examiners, auditors, and customers.
  • Manage gaps and compensating controls (such as risk assessment control deficiencies, audit findings, and examination criticisms) proactively, to ensure timely remediation when appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities.


No travel required for this position.

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of information security for SaaS platforms experience.
  • 2+ years of engineering leadership experience (team lead, lead engineer, engineering manager).
  • 5+ years of experience working in public cloud environments.
  • College degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
