JOB PURPOSE:
The Sales Support Specialist provides technical, maintenance, and commercial support to the Sales team by translating customer Statements of Work (SOW) into accurate, compliant proposals and estimates. Acting as a maintenance/avionics subject matter expert, this role conducts research, develops work scopes, coordinates with approved third-party vendors, and ensures timely delivery of costed solutions that meet customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSBILITIES:
Sales & Proposal Support
- Receive customer requirements from the Sales department and interpret Statements of Work (SOW) from a maintenance and technical perspective.
- Research, develop, and define compliant work scopes aligned with customer requirements, approved maintenance programs, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare accurate and complete estimates in accordance with internal and external maintenance programs, company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and reconcile final estimates with Sales, closing scope, pricing, or technical gaps as required.
- Ensure on-time delivery of proposal inputs, estimates, and technical clarifications to support Sales commitments
Vendor & Work Scope Coordination
- Identify, engage, and coordinate with approved third-party maintenance and service vendors to support customer work scopes.
- Build, review, and validate vendor work scopes and proposals for technical accuracy, pricing alignment, and compliance with the customer SOW.
- Consolidate vendor input into cohesive, sales-ready proposals and presents findings to internal stakeholders as required.
- Support vendor evaluation by validating assumptions, labor inputs, material requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Research, Tracking & Reporting
- Conduct maintenance, task-card, and program research to support accurate proposal development.
- Track time and effort spent on Sales Support activities to support management visibility and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, vendor proposals, and supporting technical documentation.
- Support additional Sales and commercial initiatives as assigned by the Director.
- JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Aviation or related field;
- 10 years aviation experience;
- Solid knowledge of maintenance planning and forecasting as demonstrated through 4 years of hands-on experience and a good working knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs, maintenance manuals and service bulletins.
- AME license is preferred and considered an asset.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Post-secondary diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or a related technical field.
- 8–10 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance and/or avionics, maintenance planning, or technical proposal support.
- Strong working knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs, maintenance manuals, and service bulletins; CAMP experience required.
- Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into clear commercial proposals.
- Experience working with third-party vendors and validating external work scopes and estimates.
- AME license preferred and an asset.
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent proposals in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office, particularly Excel; ability to quickly adapt to new systems and operation-specific software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively between Sales, Engineering, Vendors, and Leadership.
- Knowledge of Quantum Component Control is an asset.
