KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: 
  • Snow Removal (airside and groundside) including proficiently and safely using equipment such as shovels, sweepers, tractors, spreaders, skid loaders, compact tractors;
  • Performs lawn maintenance, landscaping and groundskeeping;  
  • Conduct daily janitorial services and duties; 
  • Maintain an organized system for all documentation, parts, tools and safety equipment;  
  • Assist with issuance, return and maintenance of security key cards;  
  • Perform routine building maintenance, property inspections, repairs and service; 
  • Perform/facilitate minor maintenance work including painting and moving furniture;  
  • Sign in/out and escort contractors as per Skyservice Security policies;  
  • Assist in correcting findings from in-house and contractor inspections; 
  • Inspects buildings and other structures to determine detect malfunctions, security concerns, fire prevention, H&S concerns, troubleshooting and identifying repairs; 
  • Participate in scheduling and coordination of annual facility inspections; 
  • Support team in safety and security audit processes; and 
  • Other duties as assigned.  
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS 
  • Minimum 4 years employment experience;
  • Must have a valid G driver’s license;
  • Must pass Police Background Check required to secure Airport Restricted Area Identification Card;
  • Light and medium equipment operator experience;  
  • Heavy Equipment Operating Experience/Training preferred; 
  • Intermediate understanding of electrical, plumbing, tiling, HVAC systems preferred; 
  • Experience with a variety of hand tools and electric tools is an asset;
  • Capable of lifting 50lbs or more;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Reliable, trustworthy and able to work varying hours, days, nights, holidays and weekends;
  • Willing/able to be on call 24/7 April to October;
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently with customer service mindset;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Ability to understand and follow directions with minimal supervision;
  • Must be able to organize time efficiently and tasks effectively; and
  • Required and able to work in all types of extreme weather conditions (snow, slush, ice, freezing rain, hail and sub-zero temperatures).

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency is required.
  • Technical College/Post-secondary education is an asset.
