The Apprentice Sheet Metal Technician will work with the maintenance crew responsible for repairing and implementing structural enhancements to the aircrafts. The key responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting structural repairs and modifications on the aircraft, and fabricating sheet metal parts to replace worn aircraft parts or flight controls surfaces.


  • Developing your skills as an apprentice by performing and ensuring proper completion of repairs, replacements & rebuilding of aircraft structures (i.e., wings and fuselage) using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment (i.e., shears, sheet metal brake, rivet gun and drills);
  • Ensure that the work is performed according to the quality standards, policies and procedures of Skyservice and the applicable regulations (Transport Canada, etc.);
  • Ensure all internal documentations are complete and accurate;
  • Attend training courses as directed by company management;
  • Adhere to the Safety Management System policy;
  • Always maintain and ensure a clean and safe work environment;
  • Assist in all other related duties, as assigned by management.


  • Completed Structure or Sheet metal program or equivalent;
  • Working towards obtaining an S license Technician;
  • Previous apprentice related experience is an asset;
  • Experience related to aircrafts is an asset;
  • Class 5 driver’s license required;
  • Knowledge of operating a welding and brazing equipment is an asset;
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapts quickly to change and flexible to work shifts;
  • Must be attentive to details and safety procedures;
  • Team oriented;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
