RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine ground service equipment inspections, repairs, and service to equipment such as tugs, towbars, GPUs, water carts etc., working alongside the General Manager, GSE to correct findings from in-house and contractor inspections.
- Inspect equipment to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions using recommendations and a pre‐established check sheet.
- Repair and occasionally overhaul assigned ground support equipment and machinery to ensure it is maintained in a safe and operational condition (including, but not limited to, tugs, GPU’s, tow bars, anti-icing cart and lav cart).
- Complete calibration inspections on equipment prior to its expiry date.
- Sign in/out and escort contractors as per Skyservice Security policies.
- Maintain an organized system for all documentation and parts inventory.
- Diagnose problems using test equipment and applicable manuals.
- Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements.
- Conduct repairs, aiming for maximum reliability.
- Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
- Maintain engine and machinery components through thorough cleaning, lubrication, and replenishment of fluids.
- Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users.
- Complete GSE paperwork as required.
- Provide investigative support and weekly reports to Manager for all quality assurance, safety matters for equipment operations.
- Manage the relationship and communication within all departments, tenants, and landlords.

- Perform minor electrical maintenance, plumbing maintenance, painting, carpentry, and masonry work.
- Perform routine building maintenance, property inspections, repairs, and service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior heavy mechanical experience with vehicles and/or other mechanical equipment.
- Must be able to obtain a valid airport security clearance.
- Experience as a Lineservice Technician/Ramp Attendant is an asset.
- Must be a team player with strong customer service skills.
- Must lead by example – perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety for co-workers and customers.
- Knowledge of various hand tools and supporting equipment.
- Ability to safely lift 70lbs.
- Must be willing to work in all types of weather conditions.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and be on call as required.
- Ability to apply common sense and to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
- A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines.
- Very good communication skills.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Very good physical strength and stamina.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee may also be exposed to long periods of snow and/or cold temperatures. The employee may be exposed to long periods of extreme heat temperatures, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
