PURPOSE:

The Legal and Contracts Administrator is responsible for supporting the legal department and optimizing a seamless working environment for internal stakeholders through proactive management of legal contracts, corporate documentation and filings. The Administrator is a key member of the legal department in ensuring continuous improvement, customer engagement and collective goal achievement.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Read, understand and assimilate industry related legal documents along with all procedures and processes defined in the contract documents;
  • Organize and maintain legal library and contracts database to ensure tracking of contract deliverables and adherence to corporate policies;
  • Organize and maintain corporate existence, filings, corporate records and minute books for all Skyservice companies;
  • Coordinate and assist in the preparation of board package materials and drafting of resolutions; legal letters, documents, and performing legal research;
  • Maintain and assist with preparation of departmental records and reports;
  • Assist with regulatory matters filings;
  • Maintain various company policies and lists containing company information;
  • Keep track of department’s budget, code invoices (liaise with finance department);
  • Attend and take meeting minutes when required;
  • Perform any other duties, as assigned by the General Counsel.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of legal administration or contract management experience, including a strong understanding of contracts, contractual obligations and corporate recordkeeping;
  • Possess a Degree in Law, Business Administration or Commerce or other relevant field is required;
  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of contractual and business related issues, policies, procedures and systems;
  • Possess strong quantitative, analytical, and creative problem solving skills with the ability to see alternative solutions;
  • Experience with Corporate filing is required;
  • Self-starter that is able to make sound decisions from proper analysis of contract terms and available data and other gathered inputs;
  • Possess strong organizational skills and ability to manage a large volume of files and electronic filing systems;
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize, multitask, and adapt well in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment;
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with a high level of integrity and confidentiality towards sensitive information;
  • Excellent communication (oral/written) skills in both French and English, as well as excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with members of all levels of management;
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of computers, word processing, spreadsheets and databases;
  • Demonstrates leadership through professionalism, job ownership, commitment, teamwork and ethical behavior.
