JOB PURPOSE:
The Sales Support Specialist – Teardown & Recycling is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and supporting the acquisition of aircraft for teardown and parts resale. The role leverages strong technical knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance economics to support sourcing decisions, parts recovery strategy, and proposal development. This position works closely with Sales, Inventory, and internal technical teams to ensure aligned acquisition, teardown execution, and parts resale outcomes while complying with approved maintenance programs, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSBILITIES:
Aircraft Sourcing & Market Analysis
- Identify aircraft candidates with strong teardown economics based on market demand, lifecycle status, and component value.
- Monitor global sales channels, auctions, and fleet retirement schedules to identify acquisition opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with aircraft owners, brokers, leasing companies, MROs, and industry partners, including off-market opportunities.
- Support negotiations, inspections, and valuations for aircraft acquisitions.
Sales & Proposal Support
- Assist Sales with proposal development based on customer Statements of Work (SOW).
- Prepare accurate estimates in accordance with approved internal and external maintenance programs, company policy, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and reconcile final estimates with Sales, closing technical or scope-related gaps as required.
Teardown & Parts Strategy
- Analyze historical and forecasted demand for airframe, engine, avionics, and interior components.
- Collaborate with Inventory and internal/external parts sales teams to align acquisitions with parts resale strategy.
- Coordinate with internal teams to plan and support aircraft disassembly and teardown execution.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Maintain accurate records of acquisition costs, teardown yields, and ROI metrics.
- Prepare regular reporting on acquisition pipeline status, teardown progress, and related sales performance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Aviation or related field;
- 10 years aviation experience;
- Solid knowledge of maintenance planning and forecasting as demonstrated through 4 years of hands-on experience and a good working knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs, maintenance manuals and service bulletins.
- AME license is preferred and considered an asset.
