Position Summary:

Stitcher is hiring a Producer to join a label creating original content. Your main responsibilities will include working closely with the Executive Producer on a slate of shows, developing pilots, creating prep for talent, audio editing, line producing talent during recording sessions and providing editorial feedback during post production. Our ideal candidate has at least 3-5 years’ experience in creating, producing and editing compelling audio and familiarity with the current podcast landscape.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Executive Producer to develop sound and workflow of a new weekly chat show
  • Lead production on series - attend all recording sessions, manage scheduling and booking, work with hosts and EP on editorial choices, assemble episodes for handoff to engineer
  • Manage the creative process to anticipate problems before they occur, and lead hosts to do their best work using smart, targeted editorial feedback and a skilled, creative ear
  • Prep materials for the hosts, lead pre-interviews as needed, and be responsible for helping to grow the show’s audience substantially over time
  • Handle meeting all ongoing deadlines and managing fast turnaround as needed
  • Book recording sessions, directing hosts in a studio and editing raw interview tape
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment to create a supportive and efficient production process
  • Work as point person for the show with ad sales, marketing, etc
  • Other duties as assigned

  • None

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in content development and/or production preferred for podcast, terrestrial or satellite radio, or similar audio medium
  • Hands on production experience in television, web video or related medium a plus
  • Pro Tools, or similar audio editing software, expertise required
  • Reasonable flexibility in schedule (we respect work/life balance but sometimes must accommodate host’s limited recording availability)

  • Must possess a curiosity and passion for podcasts and ideas for ways to move the medium forward as well as grow the audience
  • Sophisticated talent management abilities
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills
  • A great ear for what makes for an engaging, smart, and entertaining conversation
  • A passion for determining what podcast audiences want to hear from our hosts
  • Patience and ability to walk talent and guests through basic tech setups for remote recording
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Critical thinking
  • Social media management abilities
  • Ability to meet all deadlines while working independently
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Understanding of emerging, digital-first media models

Work Environment:

  • Flexibility on schedule - while this *won’t* be over 40 hours a week, ability to work on nights and weekends is necessary to accommodate hosts’ TV & Film changing shooting schedules
