Position Summary:

Stitcher is the world's largest pure-play podcasting company. We started as beloved comedy podcast network Earwolf; via Midroll, we provide ad sales and distribution services to 300+ shows such as WTF with Marc Maron, Oprah's SuperSoul Conversations and many more; and with Stitcher, we own one of the largest podcast apps and a network of original content from talent such as Bill Nye and LeVar Burton. If you have a knack for research, editing and using your creativity to give a project that extra touch, this role is for you! This role will serve to assist the production team with pre-production, production, and collaborate with marketing to develop promotional assets for each episode.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the production and schedule for assigned shows which may include story selection, writing and researching scripts, scheduling, recording, assembling, recording sessions, post-production, ad spots, episode publishing, and show promotion.
  • Contribute fresh ideas to keep content exciting and innovative, including suggestions of themes, stories, and content for upcoming episodes and social media content.
  • Produce and publish social media content, including audiograms, graphics, and video content to support podcast promotion.
  • Communicate regularly and in a timely manner with the senior production team throughout the production process to help all stakeholders and projects meet their full potential.
  • Quality check episodes to ensure they meet network standards.
  • Assist with tracking booking requests, invoicing, and guest scheduling.
  • Help track advertisement approvals, ad copy, and ad due dates.
  • Research and fact-checking.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with key talent and their representatives.
  • Facilitate collaboration with internal teams including project management, marketing, operations, legal, revenue and licensing on the development, launch, production, monetization and evolution of network podcasts.
  • When back to in-studio recording; act as concierge and offer water and coffee to guests and hosts, print scripts and ad copy, collect talent releases.
  • Skillfully and professionally photograph performers and pull video clips from recordings with an eye to creative re-use in social media, web, press and public relations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in content development and production for:
    • podcasts, terrestrial or satellite radio, or similar audio medium (ideal)
    • Television, web video or related medium (optional).
  • Experience working across a variety of genres and styles: comedy, in-depth interview, news, documentary, etc.
  • Experience working collaboratively with creative and editorial talent.

Requirements and General Skills:

  • Ability to maintain a high attention to detail, work under pressure, and meet deadlines with some level of independence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially working with strong-willed creative talent and A-list talent.
  • Hands-on audio editing skills (currently in use or in your past).
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Research and fact-checking
  • A great ear for what makes for an engaging, smart, and entertaining conversation.
  • Avid podcast consumer with ideas to grow audiences.

Work Environment

  • Standard office environment, currently working remotely
  • You may be required to work weekend and/or non-standard hours at times
  • Minimal travel may be required
