Position Summary:

SiriusXM is seeking an experienced candidate to join the ranks of the Subscriber Reporting and Analysis team.  The main analytical focus of the position will be on our growing standalone streaming line of business, with responsibilities generally encompassed by 1) developing and maintaining fully-integrated financial models illustrating short- and long-term forecasts and performance metrics, 2) ensuring reporting and forecasting accurately identifies trends and future opportunities, and 3) providing thought leadership on subscriber initiatives and reporting tools.  The person in this position will also have ownership of subscriber forecasting consolidation models and be a key team member in updating / improving / maintaining these models to provide forecasts to senior management.  Additionally, they will be responsible for cultivating relationships with numerous internal clients through consistent interaction and sharing of best practices, as well as being able to work with little or no direction and managing multiple projects in parallel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide recommendations and drive meaningful change in the way the enterprise reads and interprets results
  • Manage relationship with IT to build, test and validate reporting infrastructures and tool sets for all customer and subscriber metrics
  • Clearly and concisely communicate logic and findings to Senior Management
  • Create actionable reports for internal clients to help address business needs
  • Responsible for updating the comprehensive subscriber financial model used for monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting, reporting and long range planning
  • Actualize the model each month, prepare meaningful monthly and quarterly variance analysis
  • Work with cross-functional team to update commentary for Sr. Management presentations, including board of directors materials
  • Produce key daily / weekly / monthly subscriber reporting, including meaningful analysis
  • Respond to multiple ad-hoc requests for information from different user groups
  • Contribute to multiple cross-functional teams to ensure proper understanding of all metrics, reports and analyses
  • Develop point-of-view on external interpretation of results and response

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics or related field
  • 4+ years analytical business experience including forecasting, reporting and financial modeling
  • Experience in a subscription-based business preferred but not required

Requirements and General Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Work experience must demonstrate strong communication skills and an ability to develop strong relationships and partnerships with internal clients
  • Must have a track record of aligning activities with business strategies and measuring impact on business results
  • Must have experience working cross-functionally, successfully influencing others and implementing new strategies
  • Must be capable of contributing expertise and leading efforts to use historical data to forecast future trends in customer/subscriber patterns
  • Experience in turning vague ‘30k-foot high’ questions into tangible and actionable recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus on findings/results
  • Ability to interact independently with various user groups under minimal supervision
  • Self-starter with initiative and desire to take ownership of responsibilities
  • Excellent written and presentation skills

Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of SQL, SAS, R, Python and/or other database systems preferred
  • Working knowledge of Hyperion Essbase, Cognos preferred
  • Working knowledge of Tableau preferred
