Our Technology & Data team is the engine room of our business, providing bespoke solutions that give us our competitive advantage in a dynamic and fast paced marketplace. You will work in a team that focuses on the development of our enterprise data warehouse and reporting platform to provide our business a trusted single source of truth for our data.

The Scrum Master is the guardian of the Agile team, the person who understands and resolves impediments for the team and champions the Agile process. As a facilitator, you will run the Agile events for the team (daily scrum, planning, reviews, etc.), mediate possible conflicts, coach/mentor the organization in agile practices and drive continuous improvement for the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating events for the team including preparation, moderation and postprocessing.
  • Ensuring the team dynamics are in a healthy place through coaching, conflict mediation, fostering self-organization and the team game mentality etc.
  • Relentlessly driving continuous improvement in the team through retrospectives, learning, giving feedback, challenging the team, suggesting new metrics, etc. You should be identifying opportunities for improvement and helping others to recognize potential opportunities as well.
  • Keeping the team focused on what’s important, removing impediments. Applying and helping others apply lean thinking daily.
  • Determining and standing up of an Agile framework to best deliver be that Scrum, Lean, Kanban etc.
  • Being a responsible member of the Agile community, staying in touch with stakeholders and sharing knowledge of Agile concepts. 
  • Conduit between IT and the Business to bring goals to life and being aware of business roadmap for potential changes.
  • Supporting our business stakeholders in reviewing/prioritizing the backlog.
  • Where necessary challenge developers/testers.
  • Work closely with our other Portfolio Delivery teams, Enterprise Architecture and Cloud and DevOps teams.
  • Team velocity management.

Your skills and abilities should include:

  • Excellent knowledge of various delivery frameworks Scrum, Lean, Kanban, XP, etc.
  • Good knowledge of the software development life cycle and procedures, so that you can understand your team’s needs.
  • Proven work experience and expertise in Agile practices and ways of working.
  • PMP and/ or Scrum Master certification.
  • Strong skills and experience with using Agile working tools (i.e. Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps, or similar).
  • Continuously learning about Agile techniques like: Story mapping, Continuous Integration, BDD, TDD, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games, etc.
  • Experience with stakeholder management, product thinking and empathy-building.
  • Ability to build strong network to facilitate the removal of blockers.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master or similar role for at least 3 years.

 

SALARY:  The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 per year to $130,000 per year. This is a good-faith assessment of the salary range for this position only.  In determining the actual salary within this range, SiriusPoint will consider a candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors.
