Description

The Underwriting Admin & Support team at SiriusPoint operates as a part of the Global Chief Underwriting Office and supports a variety of key activities, including Business Partner and Sanction screening, Data Entry and Quality Control, Global Underwriter Support.  In this capacity, the team functions as a shared utility working alongside various underwriting product teams supporting key projects, improving work processes, supporting quarterly book closing processes, and ensuring that all UW data is consistent, timely and accurate.   In addition, this team is a key enabler to globalizing the underwriting process and efforts to optimize and make it more efficient.

This position reports to the Manager of Global Underwriting Quality, Control and Support.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide underwriting support including both system registration and handling contract wordings.
  • Run reports and preform controls to ensure that underwriting data is consistent and accurate.
  • Responsible for performing first line Sanction and Business Partner screening.
  • Provides general support to all underwriting units regarding account registration or corrections (e.g. in SICS).
  • Partner with the IT function and various business leaders to update and enhance IT systems.
  • Maintenance of our business partner database ensuring it is accurate and up-to-date, including sanctions.
  • Works to globalize and automate underwriting processes where possible.
  • Provide training and end-user support to colleagues globally on the underwriting process and data entry.
  • Participate in various projects aligned to key underwriting initiatives.
  • Responsible for some aspects of quarterly book closing.

 

Experience:

  • Experience within the Re/Insurance industry is desirable (Inwards and Outwards).
  • Experience with sanctions and accounting are valuable, but not required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products is important.  Experience with SICS is valued.
  • Ability to implement process improvements and be an advocate of technology to advance results and capabilities.
  • Strong collaboration skills; team-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to varying audiences.
  • Use of office products is a key and IT knowledge.
  • Experience in sanctions and accounting are valued but not required.
