Technical Accountant, Direct & Ceded Insurance

Join Our Team
You will be our Direct and Ceded Technical Accountant and be part of the Direct and Ceded team, part of the wider Finance organization. You will report to the Head of Direct & Ceded Technical Accounting.
- Ceded technical accounting responsibilities including quarterly close, coordination with brokers/cedents and the Ceded global function
- Technical accounting responsibilities for our MGA/Direct programs including bordereaux (premium, claims, commissions), deposit premiums and losses, and cash settlements.
- Coordination and Onboarding of MGA programs, working closely with Underwriting to ensure correct set up and reporting
- Coordination with other accountants and Finance colleagues, ensuring accurate reporting and controls
- Creating efficient processes and collaborating with IT colleagues to enhance the existing and prospective IT tools
- Quarterly Group reporting and other regulatory reporting
- SOX/Internal Controls as appropriate
- Ad Hoc Support for auditors
Technical Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or similar
- 5-10 years of experience within Insurance ideally across the MGA/Broker market
- Experience from the (re)insurance sector is a merit as well as working in a global operation
- Working knowledge of an underwriting system like SICS would be advantageous
- Oral and written proficiency in English
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to take responsibility, work proactively and continuously improve activities in complex, quickly transforming environments
